Villagers of Ioannina City es una banda griega de Ioánina, formada en 2007, que mezcla el rock stoner y psicodélico con la música folk tradicional de la región del Épiro, con instrumentos como el clarinete, el kaval o la gaita griega. Son uno de los nombres fuertes del post-stoner y el heavy prog con raíces helénicas.
"Venceremos" es el tema que da título a su nuevo álbum, previsto para el 18 de septiembre de 2026 vía Napalm Records. Es una canción muy directa dentro de su discografía: combina riffs pesados con gaitas y percusiones rituales, y habla de resistencia, exilio y la búsqueda de libertad frente a un futuro distópico marcado por el control y el miedo. La banda la ha definido como una promesa de que, incluso en los momentos más oscuros, la esperanza resiste.
El tema fue grabado y producido por Alex Karametis en Magnanimous X Studio (Grecia), y mezclado y masterizado por Jacob Hansen, productor habitual de bandas de metal escandinavas.
