Lone Assembly es un cuarteto de Ginebra, Suiza, formado por Raphaël Bressler (voz y teclados), Glenn Le Meur (guitarra), Jim Bodeman (bajo) y Romain Segu (batería). Su sonido mezcla new wave, synthpop y post-punk oscuro con una deuda evidente con grupos como Joy Division, Bauhaus o The Editors, con quien los comparan constantemente, sobre todo por el timbre grave y resonante de Bressler.
"The Pain Keeper" salió como single en marzo de 2025 y luego apareció en su debut "Knots & Chains" (2026). La canción nació antes del álbum y fue una de las primeras en mostrar al mundo de qué iba este grupo. El videoclip, dirigido, grabado y editado por Manon Stutz, es en blanco y negro y muestra a la banda actuando entre luces, sombras y humo, con un montaje que acompaña perfectamente el peso emocional de la canción.
La letra habla de autoboicot y automaltrato: el narrador se convierte deliberadamente en su propio carcelero emocional, alguien que prefiere pudrirse antes que pedir ayuda. Una de esas canciones que duele porque reconoces algo en ella.
