RAYE (su nombre real es Rachel Keen) es una cantautora británica que tardó años en despegar porque su discográfica la tenía encajonada. Cuando por fin se liberó del contrato, lanzó "My 21st Century Blues" (2023) y arrasó en los BRIT Awards. Este tema es el primer single de su segundo álbum, "This Music May Contain Hope" (2026), y confirma que sigue en racha.
"WHERE IS MY HUSBAND!" es exactamente lo que parece: una oda descarada y sincera a su búsqueda de pareja. Mezcla soul, big band, gospel y R&B con una velocidad en el tramo final que te deja sin aliento. La co-escribió y co-produjo con su colaborador habitual Mike Sabath, y fue número uno en el Reino Unido.
Curiosidad imprescindible: en el puente de la canción se escucha una voz que dice "Your husband is coming". Es su abuela Agatha, que lo mandó en una nota de voz por la mañana. Al principio estaba disgustada porque decía que sonaba con voz de recién levantada. RAYE la convenció de que sonaba perfecta.
El fragmento del puente se viralizó en TikTok antes incluso de que saliera la canción, y eso disparó su popularidad. También existe un remix de David Guetta e Hypaton que le da un giro más electrónico, por si te apetece escuchar otra versión.
