The Gems es una banda sueca de rock formada por tres ex miembros de Thundermother: Guernica Mancini (voz), Emlee Johansson (batería) y Mona Lindgren (bajo).
Tras una salida polémica de su anterior grupo, decidieron unir fuerzas y empezar de cero.
"Like A Phoenix" fue su primer single, lanzado el 15 de junio de 2023 a través de Napalm Records. Una declaración de intenciones desde el primer acorde.
¿De qué trata?
Las propias integrantes lo explican sin rodeos: "Esta canción trata sobre levantarte cuando te han derribado, de no dejar que las palabras negativas de otros te definan. El vídeo habla del 'renacimiento' de nosotras como banda y de cómo, a través del fuego, nos hemos vuelto más fuertes y sin miedo."
Curiosidad: El videoclip oficial fue editado por la propia Emlee Johansson, baterista del grupo. Un trabajo hecho completamente desde adentro.
